The short version: your photos and videos never leave your device.

The app is on-device
Tael edits, grades and renders your photos and videos entirely on your phone. Your media is never uploaded to us, never sent to a server, and never shared with third parties. The app works fully offline.
Tael contains no advertising SDKs and no third-party analytics or tracking SDKs.
The optional AI backend
Some optional AI features can talk to a backend. That backend is open-source and self-hostable — you choose whether to use it and where it runs. If you use a backend you host, your data is governed by your own configuration.
What this website collects
This marketing website (taelapp.com) collects only what's needed to operate:
- Waitlist email — if you join the waitlist, we store the email address you submit and a confirmation flag, solely to email you about the launch. You can ask us to delete it at any time.
- Essential cookies — a session cookie and a CSRF token, used only to keep forms secure. No advertising or cross-site tracking cookies are set.
- Privacy-respecting analytics — if enabled, we use self-hosted, cookieless, aggregate analytics. No personal profiles, no third-party trackers. It is off by default.
- Server logs — standard web-server logs (IP, timestamp, request) kept briefly for security and debugging.
Waitlist confirmations are sent over standard SMTP. We don't sell, rent or share your email address. Every email we send is about Tael, and you can unsubscribe by asking us to remove you.
Your rights
You can request access to, correction of, or deletion of any personal data we hold (which, for most visitors, is at most a waitlist email). Contact us and we'll handle it promptly.
Changes
If this policy changes, we'll update the date above. Material changes will be noted on the blog.
